Student team received MHP award for the best master project

Our student team received the MHP award for the best master project. In this project the students developed a software solution for improving the efficiency patent searches.

The goal of this project was to apply novel linguistic search techniques to improve the efficiency of patent searches. In particular, texts of any complexity can now be used as search queries. Moreover, all elements of the patents are integrated into the textual search, including the contained images. This is achieved by using methods from artificial intelligence for text extraction and object recognition.
